Topic 5: Participating in out-of-school activities

This is perhaps the most difficult point to apply because it requires time and as a teacher or trainer these days are not limited to the 18 hours of classes, far from it, and are busy. An out-of-school activity can be attending a theatre performance, a musical (concert), a sports competition, etc.

It is important to take an interest in what students like if you want them to take an interest in what you like. There are few, if any, students who were not happy to see a teacher at one of their events. It is a simple act of showing that students are important.

The other important reason for the teachers’ presence at these events is to get to know the family. It is an opportunity to interact with the students’ parents in an informal setting. It is a great way to stay in touch and have conversations about their child. There is an opportunity to share information about classroom and family issues.
